Vintage Charm

Dreaming of gloves, antique brooches, pearls and, glass chandeliers? Then a vintage inspired wedding may be just what you need. In planning your own 'naija style' vintage soiree the key is to be reminiscent of a particular period, the roaring 20s, the fab 50s, the swinging 60s...you get my drift.

Wedding Fashion
Picture Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's. Bridesmaids dresses should be in rich hues, deep reds, emerald greens or even black cocktail length dresses. Complete the look with long satin matching gloves for your bridesmaids or even the short ones ones. Elegant chignons or chin to shoulder length hair in a loose body waves are both great hair styles for this theme. Your wedding dress could be satin with a bias cut, sheath or mermaid fit. Satin looks best in silvery white, champagne or ivory. Try to avoid bright white.

Wedding Souvenirs:
For the men, vintage model cars. Mustangs, Coupe de Villes, Volkswagen Beetles or Volkswagen buses are a few good choices. For the ladies you could give beaded headbands, brooches and or compact mirrors.

Décor
Natural tones (champagne, reds, metallics....etc) work best with this theme. Think glamour, crystals and chandeliers
Though I doubt you'll have a problem of under dressed guests in Nigeria, you can still let your guests in on your theme with your invitations.
