How To Stick To An Average Number of Wedding Guests

Your number of guests can easily spill over in a Nigerian wedding. From parents, siblings, friends and other factors, your guests can easily double a lot more than you envisaged. In this article, we will be showing you the best ways to stick to the book when inviting guests to your wedding.

Discuss Invite Limits With Your Parents

More than half of the time, your parents are responsible for over half of your guests. It is the reason we have listed this as the first thing you should do.

After having a satisfactory conversation, you should give your parents a limited number of invites. There are cases where your parents are funding the bulk of your wedding ceremony. Even with this, you should all agree on guests.

Don't Overthink Reactions

You're not obliged to invite everyone. There are chances that the people you don't invite aren't so close to you and they will likely not take any offence if you don't. However, you should reach out to people that may have wanted to show up for your wedding.

Explaining to them that you're working on a tight budget can make all the difference.

Limit Plus One Invites

As much as it's beautiful to get everyone to celebrate with you, your expenses will skyrocket. If you're concerned about your budget, avoid plus one invites. You should pass this information to everyone on your list or include this message in your invitation card.

Invite Only The MVPs

Let's assume your venue allows for only 30 persons. It will mean adding your family members ( nuclear only), core friends and vendors to this list. Since these are the people that matter to your life and the smooth operation of your ceremony, it's only proper to have them alone at your wedding.

Keep Your List Private

Here's another way of sticking to your guest list, especially if you and your spouse are the only ones funding your wedding. Plan your guest list in private and make sure to avoid discussing with friends and family. They are likely to persuade you into adding more people than you planned.

Sticking to a planned guest list can be quite difficult to achieve, but not impossible. All it takes is a little bit of understanding from friends and family.
