Photos are one of the most integral parts of a wedding. They give you something to look at and help you remember some of the most beautiful moments of your wedding day.

You and your wedding party will take many pictures on your wedding day. Plus, wedding portraits with the wedding party (bridesmaids and groomsmen) are some of the most important photos you’ll take for your wedding.

Below are some steps that you can take to prepare your wedding party for wedding portraits.

Have Enough Time Allotted For Preparation

If the wedding portraits are done on a day other than the wedding, or in the morning before the ceremony, then you should make sure that you have enough time allotted to preparation. Take things like hair, makeup, and last-minute emergencies into consideration when making the arrangements for the photo session.

Make Everyone Get Prepared In The Same Location

This is an excellent tip to help you save time. It also ensures that members of the wedding party are nearby and can be easily accessed. This saves the effort, time, and stress of wondering why someone is late and isn’t answering their phone.

It also ensures that members of the bridal party follow the bride and groom’s wishes in regards to appearance.

Ensure Nobody Overindulges In Alcohol

If the wedding portraits are after the ceremony, then you should make sure that nobody overindulges on alcohol, as this can make things significantly more difficult.

Give your best man or maid of honour the responsibility of making sure that no one in the wedding party gets drunk before the portraits are taken.

Clear Up Conflicts Beforehand

It is not uncommon to have conflicts break out within the wedding party. Planning a wedding and being in a wedding party is stressful; spiked tempers can cause problems to arise within the wedding party.

In such events, try to resolve such conflicts because heightened tensions among members of the wedding party can sour the mood for everyone and make it harder to get amazing photos.

If the conflict cannot be resolved, then separate the warring parties when taking the wedding photos.

Organizing the wedding party for portraits can prove to be quite the challenge, but these tips will make it easier for you.
