5 Ways To Care for Your Hair During Rainy Season

The rainy season is upon us, and it is very much welcome because of the cool and fresh breeze it brings as against the hot, sunny weather.
As much as this season brings relief, this season also presents a certain risk to the hair which is as a result of increased moisture. The scalp and hair attract more dirt and pollutants which make the hair dirty which could lead to hair loss and other hair related problems.
Hence, it is important you follow these preventive measures to avoid these hair related problems during the rainy season.

1.    Reduce the use of hair styling products
As a result of the excess humidity, the chemical based products tend to make your hair extremely oily. This eventually causes harm to your hair and scalp. The gels can result in dandruff. Therefore, reduce the use of hair styling products during this season and try to wear hair that needs little or no hair styling products such as braids.

2.    Cover your hair
Try to cover your hair with scarf, umbrella, shower cap to avoid attracting dust and dirt to your hair. The rain water can lessen the strength of the hair shaft causing your hair to fall off as a result of the air pollutants which comes down with the rain drops.

3.    Dry your hair properly
Make sure you dry your hair properly with towel or hair dryer. Also, try as much as possible to keep your hair dry during this season.

4.    Eat healthy
What you eat also affect the growth of your hair. Therefore, make sure you eat healthy to prevent hair loss. Most importantly, eat lots of protein because it provides nutrient for healthy hair.

5.    Clean your hair regularly
If you get drained in the rain, then wash your hair immediately as soon as you get home. This is because the rainwater has some acidic contents which cause hair related problems such as the itchy scalp, brittle hair, dandruff, and hair loss. Also, wash your hair with mild shampoo and condition your hair after the wash.
