5 Things To Expect On A Blind Date

Going on a date with someone you've never met before can be exciting and somewhat adventurous. The turnout usually depends on how both individuals perceive themselves and the aura they give off. If you're going on a blind date, here is a list of things you should expect:

They'll Be Nervous

It's natural to get nervous or fidgety on a blind date. Since there's so much "overthinking" that happens before, you shouldn't be surprised if your blind date is a little clumsy or awkwardly silent at intervals.

There May Be A Lot Less To Talk About

Yes, your friends decided to hook you both up, or you met them on a dating site. It doesn't mean you will both be spewing so many things or talk as if you've met before. To avoid awkward silences, make a list of things you'd like to make a conversation. It's only a matter of time before you both settle in.

They Can Be Completely Different From Your Thoughts

Sometimes, your date can be completely different from what you imagined. While this can be a turnoff, you should only leave earlier than you planned if you notice negative energy from your date. In any case, you should expect that your blind date may have opposite personalities from you.

It's Not Going To Be Love At First Sight

While movies and other real-life scenarios have one thing in common, you shouldn't expect this to be the guiding rule to every blind date. It's okay if you both don't understand your personalities at first. If you're both willing to try again, you may eventually be laying a foundation for a beautiful relationship.

Always remember to give it time. Never make your conclusions from the first meetup. You may likely both need more chances to warm up to each other.

They Will Make An Effort

Deciding to show up for the date is the first step. Your blind date will make an effort to have conversations, ask questions and pay attention to you while you speak. Indeed, there are instances where your intended is not reciprocating. In cases where this happens, you can refer back to things we have listed above. If it's not any of these, then you can make conclusions on leaving earlier.

While blind dates can be like a box of unexpected scenarios, preparations make everything else seamless.
