Wedding Planning Mistakes You Should Never Make

Speak to any married woman and she'll have a something she would change if she could go back. These ones are the ones you MUST avoid. Even some of the most perfectionist brides have made these mistakes but the good news is that they did and now you don't have to.

Mistake 1: Telling every Tom, Dick and Harry about your wedding

It’s understandable that you’re very excited. However, it’s a bad idea to tell everyone about your wedding. This means you will have a lot of invitation cards to give out, more mouths to feed and worse, opinions you never really asked for. Also, if you want to do some big reveal at your wedding, it can lose its wow factor if your guests have already heard about it.

Mistake 2: Spending all your budget on your wedding dress

As tempting as that gown is, you really have to be strict about your money. Especially because you wouldn't want to be in debt, have dodgy photographs or food for only half the guests because you spent it all on your dress. Also, make sure your wedding dress budget covers all of your undies and accessories. Don't get carried away.

Mistake 3: Forgetting to budget for a wedding videographer.

With all of the planning that goes into a wedding, you may just forget to hire a videographer. Make sure you put out visuals as part of your important to-do list. As much as photographs may do, videos lock your youth and your movements. In addition, it gives you a visual and auditory memory of your big day many years after.

Mistake 4: Doing Your Hair and Makeup too late

The bride’s makeup and hair is usually supposed to look as fresh as possible. However, you have to make sure you’re on time, or you’d be late for your own wedding. If it means getting your makeup artiste to start making up all your bridesmaids as early as 3 am just so you can get done on time, do it.

Mistake 5: Rushing The Wedding Photo shoot

Take your time. These are memories that are here to stay. If it means creating a list of the people that are most dear to you, then you should. Also, make sure that you spend nothing less than an hour to take pictures and just before you enter for the reception. This way, you don’t give yourself a heart attack when you’re checking your photos and realize you didn’t take any pictures with your favorite, but now late grandma.
