Wedding Dress Styles You Don't Want To Be Caught Wearing in 2016

Crop Tops

The wedding dress look of a long flowing skirt and a short crop top seemed fun and different a year or two ago, but this year the look is starting to fade away. This was a dress trend that suited brides who had a more edgy style and weren't scared to show off their midriff. But if you're looking to pull off a two-piece wedding dress look, opt-in for a skirt that only goes past your knees and a top that's a bit longer.

Wedding Dress Trends On Their Way Out

When it comes time to try on wedding dresses, your eyes may be drawn to many different styles and trends. You'll grab a few dresses that are more traditional and some that are a bit out of the box and unique. But like with all fashion, wedding dress trends come and go. So if you're gearing up to go wedding dress shop for your big day this year or next, here are four wedding dress tends that are starting to get phased out in 2016.

The Ombré Look

Ombré was a hot trend in 2015 for hair and for wedding dresses. White dresses were colored with shades of pink or blue or even black at the bottom. It was a trend that spiced up the traditional white dress, just a little bit. Instead, this year, brides are moving away from the multi-colored dress and picking dresses that are colored (hello blush dresses!) instead of white.

Too Much Accesories

Dresses with lots of beading or crystals are being phased out even more. Instead, fabrics with texture are taking their place and dresses with lace and feathers are upping their game and getting even more popular.

The Expensive Dress You Can't Afford

While this isn't a dress style, it's a trend that's starting to slow down. Brides this year aren't interested in blowing their savings account on a dress they are only going to wear for eight hours. Instead, they are looking for the dress of their dreams at a price they can afford.
