Seun and Timi

Most Wedding stories come with thrills and magical moments recorded, Seun and Timi's is no exception. While on a summer job in England, they met and discovered a comfort they found in each other.

“On one of our early dates, Timi asked me out to lunch at the park and in the middle of our conversation, he suddenly stated in a very certain manner that he was going to marry me. I was surprised at his firm statement and also alarmed by the fact that somewhere deep down, I felt he was right”.

Ignoring the distance created after Seun left the UK for Nigeria, Timi made it a duty to see Seun whenever the chance came. On the 16th of May 2010 at about 1:30am, Timi led a blindfolded Seun to the lounge in her house and then took off the blindfold.

“When I looked up, all I could see were rose petals and candlelights everywhere, (he had done up the place), it was really beautiful and warm. He proceeded to tell me how much he loved me, how he'll be a great husband, during which he got on one knee, opened the engagement ring box in one hand and asked me to marry him. I was so shocked!, that I just kept nodding, he laughed and asked me to say YES, which I did”.

Unknown to Seun, on his previous visit to Nigeria, he had asked for her father's permission to propose to her on his next trip to Nigeria.

Wedding plans kicked into full gear with colour choices of aquamarine for the Engagement and fuchsia and silver for the wedding. In the space of three months, with the finishing touches of a wedding coordinator (Joke Ogunsemowo of Aesthetix Events), all was set in place. The vibrant engagement took place at the Officers Mess, and the wedding reception took place at Landmark Village, both in Victoria Island, Lagos.

Seun's Tip for for future brides
It is important to relax and try to enjoy the wedding preparation as well as the wedding day, as it would be unfortunate to miss out on such a special period in ones life.
