How To Choose A Wedding Photographer By Wale Ariztos

Selecting a wedding photographer It is one of the biggest commitments you’ll make for your wedding day. Many factors drive the selection process, budget being a major one for most couples. There are however, many other things you should consider as well. Obviously, I’d prefer that you hire me OBVIOUSLY! ! But I understand that I’m not going to be a good fit for every client.

So, here are some things to look out for.

1. You should like the photographer’s work. Yes. That sounds obvious. But I know couples that look for the cheapest, without digging deeper.

2. The honest truth is that photography is a big investment. Notice I said INVESTMENT? You have to look at it that way. So consider how big of an investment you want to make.

3. Ask to see a wedding album and/or a full gallery. That goes back to my first point- if you like what you see, most likely you will be a good fit for that photographer.

4. Sometimes just go with your gut feeling.

These are just a few things to look for. Wedding blogs and bridal websites will have a longer list of things for you to ask your wedding photographer (“like what type of camera do you use,” “describe your style of photography”), you can ask those questions. But they’re irrelevant if you don’t get along with your photographer. Right?
