Help! It May Rain On My Wedding Day

You planned your wedding and got immersed in all the beautiful (albeit stressful details), both families selected a date but no one
thought about the weather – don’t fret it happens more often than you think. With our ever shifting seasons in Nigeria this can happen to anyone. While you can’t control the weather you certainly can prepare for it.

See our tips below for a rainy wedding

1) Traffic: We all know with heavy rain comes heavy traffic. In order to be in tune with your scheduled program, manage your time well. Wake up a little earlier (we recommend an hour earlier than planned) get ready and head for your ceremony pronto so you're not stuck in traffic.

2) Provide rubber slippers/ flip flops: Your guests will gladly trade their designers shoes for rubber slippers, if your budget permits take the notch up with embellished flip flops.

3) Provide Umbrellas: Since you expect the rain, then you should have umbrellas close by at all time. These could also be provided as wedding favours.

5) Turn up: A great DJ can make anyone forget their sorrows. Your guests may stay longer than planned due to the rain, make sure they have fun.

5) Plan B: Please have a plan B for everything that can be affected by water. If there are any outdoor spaces be sure to get large enough canopies.

6) Planner and Vendors: They have usually seen all different scenarios and can assist in helping to find solutions or switch around timelines. So make sure your planner has such experience. Also make sure you're planner finds vendors that have rainy wedding day experience.
