My partner and I got into an argument because I mentioned that I want to invite one of my exes that I’m still good friends with to our wedding. I don’t see anything wrong with that. Please could you shed some light on this for me?
Well, when it comes to the people in our pasts, the decision to keep them there can be a tricky one. That’s the reason why if you ask most brides or grooms if they'd consider inviting an ex to their wedding, they'll most likely say, they would if they still talk. Ask if they'd mind if their partner’s ex attends, and that's becomes a whole different story. So if you find yourself in these circumstances, you should not address that invitation to the ex, not just yet. First, you need to think it over very
carefully, and let others -- such as your partner and your ex -- weigh in on your decision.
There are a few reasons you shouldn’t invite your ex, say, if there's still a love connection between the two of you or he and your partner blatantly don’t get along. If that's the case, you've got bigger problems on your hands and this answer isn't for you.
On the other hand, would you feel secure or be okay with your partner trying to invite any one of his exes? If you answer is no then maybe you both need a “No ex” policy.
