Interfaith Wedding Problems

We are both of different religions and i have stated my wish to be married in a church to which is has refused. i told him even if we do a civil wedding, I would still like the pastors wedding to which he still adamantly refuses. I don't know what to do as this is causing a very big rift. Your response would be appreciated.
Why won't they be happy for me?
