5 Budget Beauty Tips

Summer is creeping! Bikini? Check. Sunglasses? Check. Sexy red number? Check. What else could you possibly need for fun in the sun or a classy wedding dinner filled with Lagos' most eligible bachelors? Never mind the word ‘budget,' beauty hacks were designed for a reason! Here are five budget beauty tips that you can incorporate into completing your total "Je ne sais quoi" package:

Smoothen Your Smoocher
You will be well on your way to having a juicier pout by exfoliating your lips at least once a week. Start by rubbing some Vaseline or Shea butter and covering your lips with some plastic wrap (cling film) for about 5 -7 minutes. , then apply a mixture of honey, lemon juice, and sugar on your lips and leave it on for 1- 2 minutes. Brush again, clean your lips and moisturize as usual.

Grease Your Creases
It's no secret anymore that fat is good for the skin so make your face pop with red palm oil! This oil is packed with vitamins and antioxidants, especially vitamins A and E. It can be applied plainly or as part of a simple face mask with honey and a couple drops of apple cider vinegar. This facial treatment should be done on a clean face with no makeup and left on for 15-20 minutes after which you may have to rinse your face twice and clean with a warm face towel to get off the excess oil. Do this once a week as part of your facial care regimen.

Natural Makeup Remover
Seriously, coconut oil is a problem solver! A real total package solution for the hair, face, and body. To remove your makeup, use your preferred brand of facial wipes to clean off surface makeup as much as possible. Afterwards, apply some oil to your face making sure not to miss your eyelids and wipe your face a second time before washing as usual.

Brazilian Bikini Line
Shaving your bikini line is much cheaper than waxing and is easier for those who have a low pain threshold. Just make sure you moisturize with lotion, oils or body butter that have calming agents like aloe vera gel and lavender, tea tree and chamomile oil.

Longer Lasting Nail Varnish
Did you know that you could create bubbles in a bottle of nail varnish by shaking it? If you have not used the varnish in a while or you have just bought it, simply roll it in between your palms to move the contents round before application. This way, the varnish is less likely to crack after a couple days, and you don't have to invest in more expensive nail art to look nice.

Have you tried any of these budget beauty tips before? Beauty does not always bring about pain, especially to your wallet!
