100 Nigerian Couples Get Married in Arranged Mass Wedding

Earlier this year in Kano, a mass wedding took place in the Emirs palace for a hundred couples. All participants were screened and 'matched' to each other by the Islamic police, who also performed the marriage rites. The program is aimed at introducing stability in the community as all 'brides' involved are either divorcees or widows. None of the new husbands will be able to request a divorce without their wives permission.

Do you think this will actually have any positive impact on the community?
